AIIMS Bhopal Celebrates International Nurses Day 2026, Honours Dedication and Contribution of Nurses

Programme Organised Under the Theme “Our Nurses, Our Future: Empowered Nurses Save Lives”

Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal successfully celebrated International Nurses Day 2026 in a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Madhabananda Kar. This year’s theme, “Our Nurses, Our Future: Empowered Nurses Save Lives,” highlighted the dedication, compassion and vital contribution of nurses in healthcare services and patient care.

The programme commenced with lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana. Nursing Superintendent Akhil T. welcomed the dignitaries and stated that nursing is not merely a profession but a symbol of compassion and commitment. Assistant Nursing Superintendent Vikas Naik presented a detailed report on various activities organised during International Nurses Week 2026.

Prof. (Dr.) Mamta Verma spoke about the significance of the nursing profession and the crucial role nurses play in patient care and healthcare services. Medical Superintendent Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Gupta appreciated the dedication and service spirit of nursing officers and students, describing nurses as the backbone of the healthcare system.

Several activities including blood donation camp, poster exhibition, community awareness programmes, panel discussions, quiz competitions, sports events and candlelight march were organised during the celebration. Participants who excelled in these activities were honoured with certificates and prizes.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Madhabananda Kar stated that nurses not only provide treatment but also offer hope, empathy and emotional support to patients. The programme concluded with cultural performances, award distribution and a vote of thanks in an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm, appreciation and inspiration.
